So, the past few nights I have not gone to bed before 2:30am. Last night was for a fun reason, though. After the director's meeting, we decided to head off to Will's Pub and support Conrad's band, Dodger. They were the headliners, and the doors opened at 9, but we were still worried about catching them on time, as we didn't get there til about 10:40.

Well, we needn't have worried. Doger didn't even get on til 12:30. But it was fun nonetheless; Brad was unexpectedly there, as was Heather, and I met this one DJ guy who proposed to Heather. He may have been a little drunk, but eh. It was really fun hanging out with Margo, Heather and Becky, and watching the others get drunk. We even crammed into a photo booth. However, this morning I still had class, and Margo and I exchanged bleary-eyed glances in physics. My hair still smells like smoke. I think I shall go wash it a few times.

Just finished paper. Am not coherent. Sleep.

Wednesday, February 25, 2004

It's raining. A wet and dreary day. I have a paper to write that's due tomorrow, and am quite glad I don't have to go out now for the rest of the night. Rage on, rain...

I shall see Conrad's band tomorrow. That should be fun.

I don't like the being the bad guy, but I find that even when I lecture people don't hear it anyway, because they don't expect it from me. But that's fine, ass. You're only demonstrating your own stupidity.

Apparently I naturally have the proper piano-playing technique in my hands. Too bad I didn't start earlier. I don't think I ever accomplished the proper technique for harp, as far as my wrists are concerned. Apparently, it's cause they were naturally doing the piano thing. Woooo.

I am so happy as far as relationship stuff is concerned.

Off to write the Russian paper.... as soon as dinner is done.

Lolly Lolly Lolly get your adverbs here.

Yep, so Rolling Stone online finally has an article about Bleedthrough, the alleged new NIN album. Veeee shall seeee what comes of this.... I'm excited regardless. Other than that, I'm too sleepy/giddy for anything else, so I shall go back to bed.

Perhaps there is time for a small update before class. Valentine's weekend was fun; I ate way too much food, saw a cute movie, got food poisoning or something (not from the good food, but reheated Checkers - don't warm up mayonnaise, please) and made a strawberry dip. Oh, and got my hair cut. It's up to my chin now. Shortest it's ever been. And if the Lazy Leader of Bedhoggia will ever upload them, perhaps some out-of-towners (and, like, Katie and Anjali) can see them.

I like the new ver of AIM, and I am happy that I've been signed on for awhile. I am such a dork.

Oh, I also became an angry spork-flinging plaid wildebeest. We knew it would happen someday.

I want to break Dalto's harmonica. Not just break it, but smash it into teeny tiny pieces. And then stomp on them in a dance of glee.

I just knew it!

Wow, that post was way longer than it was intended to be.

Been an interesting few days. Haven't gotten my bio test back, but the class nearly gave me a heart attack regardless. Here's how it went:

I thought we didn't have any homework due on Wednesday. After all, on Blackboard previous to the test, the homework assignments had stopped at the test, and we were to turn in our homework folders on Wednesday. Makes sense to not have homework. Ten minutes before I leave to grab breakfast on the way to class, I decide to double check just to make sure.

I open up Blackboard. And oh...my...God... - five new assignments listed! And one due today!

I frantically tried to scribble out some answers in the fifteen minutes before class. And this was not easy to do, as that stuff is in some incomprehensible language to me and takes three times longer than normal to read. I then realize I'm going to be late to class, and run there. I even took the stairs because the elevator would take too long. I collapse into a chair that wasn't mine one minute before the start of class. For the rest of class, I try to furtively complete my homework...and fail. I was turning in my homework with a sigh at the end of class when I heard a girl ask, "Do we have to turn in our homework that was due today, too?"

"Nope," my professor replied. "Just the ones from the last unit. I guess I wasn't clear enough."

Arrrrgggghhhh.

Katie and Michelle surprised me last night for Gilmore Girls night. Those girls are sneaky, lemme tell ya. I think I had a goofy grin on my face for the rest of the night. And we had fun with the propaganda and toys for Healthy Lovin Week. Oh, and that reminds me! I got a T-shirt for it today. I thought it was really cute until I realized that the fox on the back had condoms on its ears and tail. Must not wear around elderly.

I was feeling low, so I walked to Park Ave CDs (on real Park Ave... none of that ripoff UCF business for me :P). They have T-shirts now. I drooled over a boysetsfire tanktop, drooled over a Saddle Creek t-shirt that I'm sure would have fit me (it was really cute, though the guy was bleeding through the eyes), and drooled over the Art Is Hard single. Then I bought The Lost Boys soundtrack from the used section for five dollars. Sigh. Hey, I am a college student. And I'm enjoying the soundtrack quite a bit. Reminds me of being five years old.

I'm being good and having a smoothie instead of ice cream. It's actually good, and I got to go with Michelle. Woooo.

Valentine's Day is coming...and I have no idea if I have plans or what. My dad sent me a card, though, and my mom sent a care package that is currently in the mail. I can't wait. :)

Perhaps I shall be good and go to sleep early. Novel concept, but I do seem to be getting healthier...

Oh, I told Katie I would post lyrics. Here we go. This one's a good one. Doesn't reflect my current mood at all, btw.

Driftwood: A Fairy Tale

So he would sulk and drink and mope
and cross his arms and hope to die.
And then a fairy came one night
to bring the sorry boy to life.
She pulled some strings
and spun him about.
That boy sprang up
and began to shout,
"My arms, my legs, my heart, my face
they're alive!"
And she would cry, "Liar, liar!
What have I done?
You're no lover, and I'm no fighter."

(The story goes on)

So he would buy her things and kiss her hair
to show he was for real.
And she would take those gifts and kisses
though just stringing him along.
She knew about those wooden boys -
it's an empty love to fill the void.
"Pinocchio! Oh boy, how your nose has grown!"
So he would cry, "Liar, liar!
I'll prove it to you!"
But then it grew - he had grown tired of her.
So, it was true...
He left her apartment, and he walked all night long
'til he was stopped by the shore of the ocean.
But still he walked on, amongst the whales
and the waves, and screamed,
"Liar! Liar!"
And his wooden body floated away.
He just drifted away.

And now I wonder how I was made...
my arms, my legs, my heart, my face,
my name is Driftwood.

Wooooo I got a 95 on my physics test! That's pretty much been the highlight of my day so far, but it's early yet. My bio test was meh, but we'll see how it went.

Disney on Saturday was fun, but exhausting. It's always kind of odd going to a theme park with a lot of people you don't really know, but it was good regardless. And I got to see Michelle finally do a show! She was in bandit and later everyone was talking about how great she did and how good the accent was. I was good and didn't make faces, but it was hard, as I was right in front of her.

I. Am. Still. Sick. This is ridiculous. And I've run out of the Sudastuff.

Didn't get to see the whole of the Grammys, but I taped what I missed. I must say, I am impressed with Celine Dion's performance, especially considering she couldn't hear herself.

So I'm still freaking sick. Went to the clinic this morning, convinced I have a sinus infection. Turns out I don't. I simply still have the same freaking cold for two weeks, compounded by my apparently horrendous seasonal allergies that I haven't really had since before I had my tonsils out. Although, is it a coincidence that in the past year my other allergy (the hive thing) has returned? Who knows. At any rate, I am miserable. Not super-miserable, but miserable enough. So here I sit, waiting for the Sudastuff to kick in, while Michelle plays Kingdom Hearts on my bed (hehee).

Due to some perhaps mean indirect prompting, I have decided to become serious in changing my eating habits, though not going overboard. This means: no soda except on weekends, no cookie overload, no ice cream except maybe occasionally. And doing my weird ironing board exercises every day. I have a month until spring break, so we shall see if this makes a difference at all.

I'm wearing a 50 First Dates shirt. No, I have not seen the movie, as it is not out yet, but the radio got a bunch of free shirts, and hey, I always need more nightshirts. And this particular shirt is really cute.

Waiting for Greg to call...he's about as punctual as I am, which means, sporadic. Never really know when there will actually be something on time, and if the other isn't prepared to be punctual, annoyance ensues. But I am not annoyed, because I understand everything. I rock. I am a high warlock priest in squirrel society.

Took my first physics test today, and I must say I think I did very well. Can't say for sure until I get my test back (hopefully) Monday...but I think I did pretty darn good. Now I only have to study for my bio exam on Monday...

I'm really loving the radio station. I am there much more than I should be really, but it's tons of fun, and I never cease to come out of there with a smile. It's nice.

Long, hectic, overall good day.

Got up early to help Alee shop/brainstorm for another Bill care package. I think he'll be pleased... moved straightaway to hanging out with Amy for the morning, making Bridesmaid T-shirts for the Disney trip next weekend. It was actually very fun, and after we went to the mall to try on our bridesmaid dresses, which is a surreal activity, to say the least. The dresses are very pretty, and while it may not be an ideal design for my figure, it's not terrible at all.

I got picked up from the mall by Jacob and Suzanne (does she spell it with a z in the middle or an s?) of all people (long story), and we headed to the grocery store, where we ran into Mike, who had also come from band practice. To make a very long story short, we all eventually arrived at Greg's, including even Greg, and Casey. Had fun watching the Superbowl, was actually way too interested to even think about doing any homework or leave for just any reason, though I eventually did during Halftime to wash my hair (it needed to be washed, was driving me crazy, and taking a legal shower at Greg's was not as weird as I expected). As a result, I missed the Janet boob, though I can't say I'm terribly broken up about it. Plus I'm sure it will be replayed and circulated for days to come.

Oooh, I also got to hear a new song that the guys are working on, which I very much liked - the songwriting keeps getting better, in my opinion - and later, some ODB.

What a goofball.

Am officially now on diet gearing for spring break, the only exception having been already noted by Greg. Everyone else, remind me of one word: swimsuit. Okie, one compound word.

Jordan, as much as you mean to me, I just don't think it's worth giving up my pretty, distinct red and purple blog. You'll understand in time.
