It is...ZOMBI MADNESS!!!!!

Ok, so it is not. But I did find a hiiiiilarious video of Thriller as done by Legos: http://www.waxy.org/random/video/lego_thriller.wmv

It starts out slow and boring, but I assure you, it gets better.

Those of you who have seen my hair: it's starting to grow out to the icky stage where it has to get trimmed or something. Thoughts? Grow it out, cut it short again?

It's official: I have the scariest dark circles under my eyes EVAR. Time for bed.

Another week has passed. Am kicking myself for not being able to meet up with Pixie while she was here, but the truth is, I was so busy this last week it would have been hard anyway. Am still disappointed, but perhaps there shall be meeting up over the summer. Anyway: lots of stuff coming up. The only two programs in the next two weeks are mine and Dress to Get Laid, so I know I'll have 100% of that at least. And apparently most people have been very bad about doing programs, so perhaps I'm not as bad off as I feared after all. Anyway, the biggest thing looming over my head now is my Moravian paper, but I've got a meeting with Doc tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. Lots of fun and hecticness lately concerning the radio station; I do so enjoy that place. Hopefully next semester I'll get to devote more time there...

Got to go to lunch with Mike, Jacob, Suzanne, Casey, and Greg today after band practice. Was fun, and fun to hang out with Casey in the context of everyone else as well (as opposed to the usual "Hi"s at school). Got a PS2 carrying case, making me very happy.

Saturday I got to see Dawn of the Dead with Mike, Anjali, Jacob, Suzanne, and Greg. Welll....while it was fun going to the movies with everyone, oh my gosh was there a lot of blood. Well, here's a mini-review I just wrote, but understand that the negativity of it is enhanced because I AM STILL SCARED OF THE ZOMBIES.

Saw it, didn't like it very much. Firstly, I guess I'm just not a zombie-kind-of lovin girl. It's still disturbing me, and I saw it Saturday afternoon. One of my immediate impressions compared to 28 Days Later is that 28 Days Later seemed to have a message beyond the simple infected people-running-around thing, whereas this was simply zombies and therefore harder for me to stomach. HOWEVER, then I got into a discussion about the movie tonight and realized that the original versions of the movie in fact each made social commentary on the decade/time in which the films were made. Now I respect the remake I just saw even less, as it seemed totally lacking in this commentary altogether. And really, when I think about it, I'm kicking myself for not realizing that this commentary should have been expected anyway, as it is a remake of a classic, and everyone knows that classic/scifi movies of the 50's and 60's were ways of getting messages across disguised in entertainment and suspense. Hell, I learned that in a class once. Other problems I had with this movie were the enormous plot holes/inconsistencies in the "zombieness," massive amounts of blood without the campiness I craved, and, ok, it was maybe too scary for me. I am a wimp.

However, cinematically, it definitely had its moments. I'm thinking in particular of an arial shot less than ten minutes into the movie, involving an overhead of a car crash. Pretty cool. And the musical choices for the movie were pretty awesome, with the possible exception of an awful cover of "Down With the Sickness."

But yep, on the whole, I have the urge to watch a chick flick. It's late and night, and I'm afraid of zombies. Especially after tonight, when I learned of the REAL zombies in Haiti.

Anyway, so there you go. Now I go to bed. But first: CUUUUUURSE!

Ok, so it now the end of my way-too-short spring break. I basically did a whole lot of relaxing, away from my room (I think this made the relaxing more effective, as you tend to think about school more when you can see school out the window). One highlight was, of course, seeing Alan, though we only got to see him once. :( Perhaps, with my semi-extended new summer plans, he will get down for a day or so before I leave for the summer. Another highlight was the massive playing of my PS2 and Greg's GameCube. And then there are more, but those are more mushy. But perhaps the most fun bit was the Murder By Death show (with LaGuardia and Denali) right at the beginning of the break. They were insanely good (and so is their CD, btw) and I got to meet the cellist, and see the pianist, who Greg talked to. I was not nearly as "starstruck" this time, or so I've been told, and the cellist was pretty friendly. All in all, a positive experience, and I got a great T-shirt. Wooooooooo. I would go into more detail, but I am rather exhausted. Greg also took about 200 pics (seriously) of the concert, and perhaps one day he will post them.

Oh, on Tuesday when I was doing my show I was talking to Holly about the different genres of indie rock, and when she did her show later that day it was an "educational" one that she said I inspired. I feel very special now, AND I know what Shoegaze is!

Time to sleep in my own bed. Novel concept.
